OKR template to amplify developer involvement in epic definition and prioritization

This leadership OKR template is a strong starting point for teams that need better alignment, clearer priorities, and more disciplined goal tracking.

Use it to turn a business priority into a measurable objective, then review progress weekly so your team can adjust execution before the quarter gets away from you.

Your OKR template

This OKR aims to amplify developer involvement in defining and prioritizing epics. An epic describes a large amount of work and has a number of user stories. Achieving this objective will ensure developers have a significant say in its definition. The main plan includes garnering 90% positive feedback from developers on their influence in the process.

To meet this primary goal, several initiatives have been proposed. One of these includes implementing a regular feedback mechanism from developers. This will improve communication and ensure their concerns and input on defining epics is addressed. Other initiatives suggested include conducting training on defining epics for developers and involving them in the creation process.

The OKR also focuses on improving developers' skills, with an objective of training 80% of developers in advanced epic creation and prioritization techniques. This will be accomplished by identifying suitable training programs, monitoring, and tracking developers' training progress, and enrolling developers in these programs.

Finally, the OKR aims to achieve a 30% increase in developer-led epic prioritization based on weekly reports. This goal will be met by establishing incentives for achieving prioritization targets, implementing training sessions to improve developers' prioritization skills, and enhancing the weekly reporting system to track progress.
